Sue Marek - Editor in Chief, Telecom Group
Sue Marek leads all editorial efforts for our Telecom Group of brands and provides editorial guidance for our webinars and live events. Since joining FierceMarkets in January 2007, she has led efforts to increase original reporting and breaking news, provided training for junior editors, raised our profile in target sectors, and helped shape our events strategy and content.
Sue has more than 15 years of experience reporting on the telecom industry. Prior to joining FierceMarkets, she was the executive editor of Wireless Week. From 1999 to 2001, she worked as an analyst for Paul Kagan Associates, specializing in wireless and broadband technologies. She also was the managing editor of Convergence magazine, a monthly magazine for cable television, phone, and wireless network operators. She received a B.A. in journalism from the University of Colorado and completed the University of Denver's Publishing Institute.
Dan O'Shea - Editor in Chief, FierceTelecom
Dan O'Shea has been a professional journalist for almost 20 years, primarily as an editor and writer covering the telecommunications industry from technology, business and strategy perspectives. Before joining FierceMarkets in July 2007, he was editor in chief of Telephony magazine. During his time there, he won multiple awards for his reporting and writing and guided the efforts of broader editorial staffs. He has frequently hosted online audio and video interviews, podcasts and webinars, and has moderated panel sessions at industry trade shows and conferences. He began his career working for semi-weekly newspapers in the Chicago area, covering business, politics, crime, education and sports, and still resides in Chicago.
John Carroll - Editor in Chief, Biotech
John D. Carroll is a biotech analyst with more than 27 years of prize-winning experience in journalism. Appointed editor of FierceBiotech in 2003, he has covered genomics, biotechnology, and other business topics for Biotechnology Healthcare, Managed Care, Medical News, Small Times, and Local Business.com, and has contributed to the Dallas Morning News, the Houston Press, and other leading newspapers. He spent three years as Editor of the Dallas Business Journal and early in his career he was part of a Pulitzer Prize-winning team at the Kansas City Star & Times. John lives between Texas and Vermont. He enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with his family.
Judi Hasson - Editor in Chief, Enterprise IT
Judi Hasson is a Washington, D.C., journalist who has worked for USA Today and the Congressional Quarterly. She was the editor-at-large at Federal Computer Week for seven years where she wrote about the federal government's information technology policies and the work of federal CIOs. She's a graduate of Barnard College in New York City.
Anne Zieger - Editor in Chief, Healthcare
Anne Zieger is a veteran business journalist and editor who has been covering healthcare and technology topics for almost 20 years. In addition to serving as editor of FierceHealthcare and FierceHealthIT, her work has appeared in Business Week, Forbes, Information Week, Byte, CNN.com, UPI and Managed Care magazine. She is a graduate of New York University.
Jim Kim - Editor in Chief, Finance
Jim Kim has covered financial-related topics for many years for a range of publications. In addition, he spent several years as a content director for a financial-services Web start up and as a communications manager at an association of large software companies. His views of the finance industry, from the inside and the outside, make him the ideal editor for FierceFinance, a position he has held from the start of the publication. Jim is a graduate of Duke.
